10 Things I’ve Learned During This Pandemic

As our quarantine enters week four, I’ve had plenty of time to reflect and thought I would share my insightful learning’s about this trying time.

  1. I’m becoming more like my grandmother every day. Hoarding toilet paper, obsessing about feeding my family and patiently waiting for my 5 pm cocktail.
  2. It’s possible to own one pair of pants and be content.
  3. Watching the news causes dry throat and difficulty breathing.
  4. Carole Baskin definitely did it.
  5. It’s the little things in life that bring the most joy – M&M’s, Hot Tamales, sleeping pills.
  6. Games are fun! My favorite are: Why’d I Marry You?, NOT IT, Corn Chip Bingo.
  7. You really can watch paint dry and a watched pot does actually boil.
  8. There’s plenty of time to ponder deep philosophical questions like “Is it worth the risk to get powdered sugar, buffalo wing sauce and toothpicks?” (The answer is yes.)
  9. I’m reliving my middle school years with dark greasy hair, bad make-up and no friends.
  10. I will NEVER take for granted the dedication of our healthcare workers, grocery store clerks, delivery people and everyone else who is keeping us safe and fed.

Wash your hands! See you in June…
